Feeling Sad this Time of Year? It Might be SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)

As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, you might be starting to feel a bit different than your usual self. Maybe you can’t pinpoint it specifically, but you know you tend to feel worse in the winter months than during any other season of the year. If you happen to be living in a place with a northern latitude, like our beautiful city of Seattle, this weird seasonal feeling may be even more intense for you. In fact, you might be experiencing what is known as seasonal affective disorder, or SAD.

Want to know how exactly seasonal affective disorder… affects people? NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, has composed an informative fact sheet detailing common symptoms of this seasonal depression. Check out the fact sheet here.
